Amidst rumours and speculations that some members of Kano State House of Assembly are planning to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the leadership of the Assembly on Thursday passed a vote of confidence on Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and President Muhammadu Buhari, saying its loyalty to the All Progressive Congress (APC) remains unshakeable.
The House members under the leadership of its Speaker, Rt Hon Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, reiterated their unflinching support and loyalty to APC.

However, the Speaker, Abdullahi Ata on Thursday, dispelled defection rumours of some APC members to PDP, including him.
The Speaker, further explained that the Assembly has 40 Members from the 44 LGAs in the State out of 33 whose solid loyalty remain unshaken with Governor Ganduje and President Buhari.
He added that, “six members, who are stunch followers of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as well as one PDP Member who clinched the mandate through the outcome of Supreme Court Judgemen are still with us.”
He added that, at the end of the day, there may not be any need for the six Kwankwassiyya loyalists to decamp as they are responding to negotiations from the majority group.
He further stated that the 8th Legislature of Kano State House of Assembly is working unanimously towards the development of kano state and its Citizenry
Hon Ata assured that, “triumph and victory comes from Almighty God, He gave it to whom he wishes. By God grace Ganduje and Buhari will emerge victorious at 2019 general elections.”
Ata stressed that the defection of Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso to PDP will not in any way affect the anticipated victory of Ganduje and Buhari in 2019.
