FOOTBALL NEW DISCIPLINE RULE: THE GREEN CARD, WHAT DOES IT MEAN

Here is all you need to know about the new disciplinary measure.
The first-ever green card in football was shown at the Conifa World Football Cup
What is football’s green card and what happens when a player is given one?
According to CONIFA rules a “player who receives a green card must leave the field of play immediately”.
However, instead of going down to ten men, they can be replaced so long as the team has not used all of its substitutes.
The player will also be available for the next game.
CONIFA General Secretary Sascha Düerkop told These Football Times: “The idea behind [the green card] is that we believe unsportsmanlike behaviour should be limited and sanctioned.
“If a particular player behaves badly on the pitch, the green card gives the referee the opportunity to sanction him personally without sanctioning the whole team – as they will be able to continue with the full 11 players.”
